We aim to be the top 5 exporting countries in the world in 2023.

We aim to be the top 5 exporting countries in the world in 2023.

Reminding that the Turkish furniture industry already has a share of 1.5 percent in the world furniture market, Güleç said, “As a country, we are entering the most important supply chain in the world. In the first eight months of 2020, we achieved 2.1 billion dollars of exports. The Turkish furniture industry is a sector that markets its brands to the world without contract manufacturing; works with all its strength in the name of branding; renews itself day by day by investing in R&D design studies in the field of design; is not satisfied with it and seeks new markets while exporting to 180 countries. All these parameters show that; it is not a dream to see Turkey among the 5 furniture exporting countries of the world in 2023. Turkey, which stands out with its design, quality, fast production, and labor cost, is making full progress in exports. In the coming periods, we will accelerate our export growth by focusing on countries such as; the USA, China, and India, establishing logistics systems, and concentrating on design.”

LARGER-SCALE FURNITURE FACTORIES TO BE ESTABLISHED IN 2022

Ahmet Güleç said that as the Turkish furniture industry, they expect to end the year with export of 4 billion dollars and that they anticipate a sales figure of 60 billion TL in the domestic market. Referring to the increase in demand after the pandemic, Güleç said: “Our factories are trying to catch up with the increase in demand by making arrangements in shift work systems and rapidly completing some of their new facilities that were left incomplete due to the pandemic. The increase in demand will pave the way for employment in the first place. An additional employment situation of 100 thousand people may arise. Our factories create the conditions for efficiency in accordance with mask, distance, and hygiene rules and ensure that there is no disruption in the supply chain. They put a lot of effort into this. But I can say that as long as this rate of increase in demand continues, maybe not in 2021, but in 2022 the new furniture factories will be on a larger scale. These factories, where the latest technology will be used, will also be a great threshold for Turkish furniture. We want to be one of the top five furniture exporting countries in the world, and we have the power to achieve this. As Turkey, we are currently the furniture factory of Europe. The United States holds our largest client potential. Our exports to America and Europe are increasing. We want to export 3 billion dollars to America in the short term and achieve our goals in this way.”
